  1. What's new in this coterie
  2. Werewolf? There wolf. I love me some werewolves. But as far as movies go, I love a creature that is brand spanking new. Something I haven't seen before, or something unseen. I'm a huge classics fan; The blob, The thing, killer tomato's. Must have ONE good jump scare!
  3. So this is to share various gems, of all kinds, you've found in your movie watching. Last night Morrigan and I watched Dead and Breakfast. We both regret putting off the watch so long because it was fucking great. The soundtrack is so great. This particular gem, and the scene its in, alone is worth watching the whole thing.
  4. Werewolves or any sort of canine-monster are my favs. Next up would be sharks, crocs and dinos. Then things like chupacabra, jersey devil, wendigo, space critters. Really pretty much anything as long as its not boring ass ghosts.

  8. Same reason the blindfolds work - long as the doors stay closed and windows are covered/blacked out they can't get in because they require a visual link with the victim to act. They can enter buildings otherwise. At least, per the novel.
  9. They are vampires? Gotta be invited? The way they explained what they were was a little obscure so it made anything really possible and with the images that explained them they also could change forms... Other things didn't make sense. Why did they only sometimes chase you? Other times they let you get away etc.
  10. @Zozma That's the most basic question ever and it never even entered my head! Now I want to know too
  11. I liked it but did anyone else question why the entities could not enter buildings?
  12. I 'm not a fan of scary movies, but I turned it on because I thought someone else would like it. They wandered away and I didn't. I thought it was a lot like the Myst mixed with a little Constatine for the entities and thought it was very good. I thought it was a series at first, and would have suck around to watch what happened after the end. I admired Sandra Bullock's dedication to realism with the weight loss towards the end but I hope that her health is ok; cameras put on pounds and she looked worryingly lean.
  13. Mysterious monster type movie? Sort of like the Happening combined with the Quiet Place. Anyone else seen it?
  14. Tubi The Barrens - Jersey Devil Terror Birds - Cenozoic Era Birds Alligator X - Prehistoric Reptilian Predator Killersaurus - T. Rex Mongolian Death Worm - Giant Worm The Dinosaur Experiment - Velociraptors Cowboys Vs. Dinosaurs - Various Dinos 100 Million BC - Time Warp, Various Dinos Mega Shark Vs. Python - Giant Snakes Battledogs - Werewolves Blood Moon - Skinwalkers, Western Night Wolf - Werewolf PRIME Bats: Human Harvest - Bats Scream of the Wolf - shifter Triassic World - Dinos Jeepers Creepers 2 - Thing Jeepers Creepers 3 - Thing
  15. This is a compilation thread of locations to watch certain films that you'd suggest - Prime, Netflix, Hulu etc. To keep thinks uniform please post Category - Title of Film as a Link - Subject Matter. We encourage multiple location links! So if you find a film that's already listed under Prime on another site like Hulu, post the Hulu link! If this thread sees enough action I'll create a master listing in another thread. Ex:
  16. Dog Soldiers and Howl will always be my favorites, at least for the werewolf genre. Pretty much anything monster that The Asylum puts out is awesome - Sharknado, Two Headed Shark Attack, Sharktopus vs Whalewolf etc
  17. Anything extinct that somehow gets resurrected: sharks, dinos, megafauna! Give me Terror Birds! I love almost anything huge like the made-up monsters from Godzilla. I also like the supernatural monsters like werewolves and vampires although I'm really picky about what I'll watch or read.
  18. For a TV series, I am going to suggest the Primeval TV series. The creatures were created by the same folks that did the Walking With Dinosaurs documentaries. There are some made-up monsters, however, the majority are extinct critters - dinosaurs and megafauna. Availability varies. I have it on my Amazon Prime streaming membership and also found it on Hulu. Awesome show with characters that you can easily fall in love with or totally hate! The spinoff, Primeval New World, was short-lived, but also very good.
  19. For those that love werewolves, I highly recommend Robert R. McCammon's The Wolf's Hour. It is available in several formats. Awesome take on the werewolf critter. I've read it several times.
  20. Any of Steve Alton's books are worth reading. He's got a ton of monster/horror books out, his primary series being Meg (which The Meg movie is based on), Domain (Based on the 2012 Mayan Doomsday prophecy), The Loch, as well as seven stand alone novels.
  21. I loved The Meg. Have not seen Sharknado yet. I am not sure I can name a favorite of the moment because I have a favorite in each creature genre! 1955's It Came From Beneath the Sea will always be near and dear to my heart. Jaws ranks pretty high for a more realistic creature feature. All the dino movies, especially 1969's Valley of Gwangi. The Ray Harryhausen stop-action special effects were awesome. I rank Godzilla in with the dino movies and I love all of them. Since I'm a glutton for special effects, the most recent one ranks right at the top of my list. I cannot wait for Godzilla: King of the Monsters. I'm sure that I will think of more!
  22. Got a favorite monster book or series of books? Please post the title and a brief, non-spoiler synopsis in this thread! Keep people up-to-date with new releases in book series, etc.
  23. Use this thread to recommend creature feature television shows. Remember to use spoiler boxes so it is not ruined for those that may not have seen it. Links to online streaming would be awesome. Failing links, try to suggest where the show can be found (network, original streaming media, etc.).
  24. Suggest Monster movies. Links are always best if they are available through a streaming service online.
  25. I prefer Sharks and Werewolves although crazy space creatures are also fucking awesome.
  26. For me I'm still in love with Sharknado and all of it's successor's but the Meg is a pretty damn good one.... I mean there are so many to name and so little time.
