The year is 74CE, one hundred years after the founding of the Principate. Emperors have risen and fallen, wars have been waged, and the Roman Empire finds itself in the tenth year of Emperor Quintus Flavius Caesar Alexander Augustus, whose rule has proved strong and prosperous after a period of relative instability. However, the empire is changing; new philosophies and ideas threaten to compete with Rome’s most ancient traditions, rumours are whispered of tension along the empire’s borders, and, as always, ambitious men and women seek to make their own mark in history.

    Where will you fit in?

And will you survive a world where lust, treachery, and greed runs thick, or will your name fade into the recesses of history?

Gothy is a truly lovely admin. She's always cheerful, always encouraging, and she's generous with her time without treating the site as being more important than the real world. But she's committed, this site has been around for yonks, so you know you have a solid team on your hands.

I think a lot of people are afraid to get involved with historical roleplay because there are people out there who are absolute sticklers for accuracy and can be quite nit picky. AeRo is not that kind of site. If you're not sure, people are happy to help you out. It's a great site for people who want to roleplay in a historical setting but are nervous about it.

The community itself is friendly, active and enthusiastic! And all without being unreasonable with your time or knowledge.

I do highly recommend this site!
