In 1950 the Wizarding World faced a terrible political blow when their Minister, Wilhelmina Tuft, was poisoned during her own Charity Auction. Her untimely demise left the government un-run, without rule, and desperate for stability once more. After nearly five years of peace and prosperity, the abrupt decline in overall safety of the nation caused mild panic which resulted in the quick succession of Ignatius Tuft, the son of the former Minister.
The year that followed was filled with chaos, trauma, and death. Minister Tuft, under the helpful guidance of Abraxas Malfoy, turned a blind eye to the obvious and redirected Ministry efforts elsewhere, resulting in a catastrophic close to the year.
Lord Voldemort, once a name merely murmured in the shadowy darkness of Knockturn Alley, had quickly become a household conversation piece. His display in the Atrium of the Ministry of Magic had left people buzzing with fear, excitement, and uncertainty. Though, if there was one thing to be sure of-- it was that Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters were a force to be reckoned with and the rise of the new Dark Lord was quickly advancing upon the entire Wizarding World.
