Welcome to Obliviate the Night! We are an AU, Post-Potter site where most of our plot is based on player-driven plots with a little bit of staff meddling thrown in. We are an 18+ community and due to that we do require that our players be at least 18 years of age. The site is based in the year 2024, and we boast a very friendly staff team and player base who are more than willing to accept anyone into the fold. The current Minister of Magic is Elizabeth Shacklebolt, newly elected after the previous Minister was murdered by what is suspected to be rogue vampires. Currently the plot revolves around whether the various sentient creatures in the Magical Community deserve the same rights that most Wizards and Witches of the Magical Community enjoy, and how to police them when they step out of line.
Two main factions of this disagreement sit apart from the Ministry and are determined to prove that their respective side is on the right side of history. The Hydras, a ragtag group of cast-outs and orphans believes that creature rights need to be defended from the Ministry and the other factions machinations and are willing to do anything they can in their power to fight for equality and protections of the ones they love, creature and wixen alike.
Symbols and slogans of a new group, “The Knights of Walpurgis” have been found in slowly escalating amounts, though for the rest of the world this is nothing new. The Knights, in this new world, being a long-standing faction who have evolved over the last thousand years to serve many masters, have finally found their own feet and have begun to serve their own interests instead of latching onto the next dark wizard on the rise. These symbols and hushed whispers say that the Knights are planning something big in the works.
We have currently announced the addition of two original classes of magic users "Wilders" and "Elementals" whose schools were kept hidden and apart from the rest of magical community due to their uncertain powers. Where the wizards and witches of the Ministry have always thought that magic came with strict rules and curriculum, these newly revealed magic uses pose a confusing and startling new question: what else is possible?
