So continuing through the Jcink theming guides our next step is the actual design process. Board Wrappers are considered the bones of your theme and wraps up the other elements in it. This will often be the biggest part of your mock-up.

IPS is a powerful product. Most of the time, if I need to achieve something, I can do it with page blocks. Sometimes, I just need to alter those page blocks a little bit in order to achieve what I want to achieve.

In this guide, I hope to help guide you through looking for the correct variables and writing a simple if statement. At the end of the guide, you should have a working automatic open thread list.

This guide is addressed to jcink users but can be used by anyone. Just substitute in the correct terminology.

Essentially, this guide is the creation of a guidebook. On the left of the screen are links. On the right of the screen is a blank space. You click on a link and the appropriate contents appear on the right hand side. You click another link, those previous contents vanish to be replaced by the new appropriate contents.

A few weeks ago, the editable templates for Jcink's memberlist went live on all sites. This is a fantastic opportunity for admins to create a memberlist that can be filtered by factions, or sorted on playby, without having to update and maintain a list.

I'm going to show you how you can do this using isotope and custom profile fields. This code can be used by any software (just substitute your variables and templates) but I am targeting administrators of jcink sites in particular.

CPanel is one of the most comprehensive web server management software available. When it comes to uploading files to Cpanel the easiest way is to use the built-in file manager.  This means that you don't have to learn how to install and configure a complicated FTP service, especially since you can upload zip files and extract them directly on the server.

As hobbyist webmasters/administrators, we often simply copy what has been done before us within the community, assuming that if the bulk of the community does it, than it must mean that it's effective. We already know that that isn't true to a degree, tiny font is probably one of the the biggest complaints on directory forums and yet tiny fonts are still very common.

Link backing is one of those practices that should probably be interrogated by admins as they're setting up their site. This guide will explain why.
