  1. I'm using IPS. I tried to make a joining application using the editor section. I used custom code for display, and unfortunately now the editor code (bolds, italics, etc) is now removed. Is there a way where I can make it so the editor codes work? Thanks 🙂
  2. I've spent the day making a new skin for the forum, but there are a few things that I am stuck on, mainly because I don't normally code things the way I want them to. I basically want to make different coloured themes for the forum but there are some things in the html template that won't change when I switch between themes, so I need to style them using css instead. The first is that I want a css table for the side bar where I have the links. Normally I colour the background using html because it's the method I'm most familiar with, but it won't work in this case. The second is I want to convert the styling of this post template into css rather than have it as html because it will be a pain to go around editing the colours to match the theme every time I change it and I want to keep it readable. <div align="center" style="margin-top:-20px;"><table style="border:2px;"><tbody><tr><td><div style="width:650px;height:relative;background-color:#251F1F;padding:10px;border:#211B1B solid 10px;border-top-right-radius:200px;border-top-left-radius:50px;border-bottom-right-radius:50px;border-bottom-left-radius:50px;"><div align="center"><img style="width:645px;height:150px;border-top-right-radius:200px;border-top-left-radius:50px;" src="http://legends-of-arda.uk/images/documentimages/oie_bzhvMFNxZDsL.jpg"> <h2>A Guide to Races:</h2> <h3>Giant Spiders</h3> <div style="width:600px;padding:5px;font-size:12px;font-family:verdana;text-align:left;"> post here </div><div style="margin-top:7px;"></div></div></div></td></tr></tbody></table></div> Finally, I have a problem with the mini-profile. The styling of the profile, writer info, plot page, posts, threads and joined are all in the html template. I can change the colours of the fonts in the css but that's it. (I tried to fix it by giving it a background colour, but it doesn't fill the whole box.)
  3. Ok so...I like clean, and honestly the best way to see my style is clicking on Venice's button in my sig. But we've got another project going, and I want dark...yet clean. Nothing crazy, and more scholarly than flashy? If that makes sense? I'm open to any hosting, but what are some of your favorite themes? Edit: Money is not an issue, so if you know of one that is paid I'm all ears. Or if you know of someone who makes them? I'd happily commission.
  4. The database transfer is going well. I can upload avatars, but they do not show up in posts, profiles, or on the ACP user list, but do when looking at a user's information in the ACP, showing that the image is uploaded. I think it might be something to do with the coding for the avatar url paths, but I don't know where these are to fix them.
  5. Not really a coding issue? I need to know if I can unlink a subaccount without it becoming a stand alone account. We have a specific Staff Account that is a Subaccount to all staff members. I would like to remove it from the staff that left (as they can access staff stuff via the subaccount even if their main account is inactive). Generally when we unlink subaccounts, they become their own stand alone account, and I don't want that to happen in this case.
  6. As promised, the how do?! topic. I'm in the customFieldsDisplay template and am attempting to call the custom profile fields individually with no success. I've tried a few codes... <h4> <div>Age {$fields['core_pfieldgroups_2']['core_pfield_2']|raw}</div> <div>Age {$author->fields['core_pfieldgroups_2']['core_pfield_2']|raw}</div> <div>Age {$author->field['core_pfieldgroups_2']['core_pfield_2']|raw}</div> <div>Age {$author->contentProfileFields['core_pfieldgroups_2']['core_pfield_2']|raw}</div> <div>Age {$author->contentProfileField['core_pfieldgroups_2']['core_pfield_2']|raw}</div> <div>Age {$fields['core_pfieldgroups_2']['core_pfield_2']|raw}</div> <div>Age {$fields['core_pfieldgroups_2']['core_pfield_2']|raw}</div> <div>Age {$author->fields['core_pfieldgroups_2']['core_pfield_2']|display}</div> <div>Age {$author->contentProfileFields['core_pfieldgroups_2']['core_pfield_2']|display}</div> <div>Age {$author->contentProfileField['core_pfieldgroups_2']['core_pfield_2']|display}</div> <div>Age {$fields['core_pfieldgroups_2']['core_pfield_2']|display}</div> <div>Age {$fieldData['core_pfieldgroups_2']['core_pfield_2']|raw}</div> <div>Age {$fieldData['core_pfieldgroups_2']['core_pfield_2']|display}</div> </h4> Some of them are doubled up with raw/display just in case that was my issue. raw display nothing. Display spits out 0, which is probably the same as nothing. So I figured that since the template is already pointing towards the author's profile, I wouldn't need to refer to it again. However I expect that my resounding failure indicates a flaw in my logic....certainly whatever code I'm trying. I'm fairly certain I've got the right IDs. Evidence attached. I await mighty wisdom!
  7. I may have jumped in too soon... but I saw that RPG Initiative offers RP hosting... and I signed up. However, I... don't know what to do from there. I am an inexperienced newbie with this sort of thing, but I want to get more experienced with hosting / backend stuff. I just... don't know where to start or where to get information on this kinda thing. I've got my site link and my AutoSSL Certificate, but I don't know what to do with it / where to edit the site/forum. Any direction anyone could provide would be awesome! I signed up for this to practice and well, any practice would be great My site link thing: http://farfromparadise-rp.rpginit.com/
  8. So I have a self-hosted site using mybb structure/coding. I've moved over from Jcink and I'm not all familiar with the layout and what can/can't be used from the stuff we have already on jcink. Basically we would like to have our OOC forums side by side, and our IC forums stacked one on top of the other and we're not sure how to accomplish that. I was wondering if anyone had any helpful resources for Mybb, or any tips they could share to make this happen. Not sure if I need to give any more information but happy to provide just let me know! Any help is appreciated <3
  9. Alright, so it was recently brought to my attention that the tabs on my application just.... don't work in IE? I went to double check and low-and-behold -- it's SUPER BROKEN specifically in IE. Chrome works; Firefox works; even Edge works. o_O; Sooooo any ideas? Live here Annnnnd here is the dohtml code annnnd the css (in stylesheet)
  10. As the title says, I'm looking for a post row/mini profile for jcink's html templates. The post row/mini profile will be a part of this skin, used on this site once the skin completed. You will get credits and a linkback in the sidebar. I'd like something similar to this with the mini profile stretching in a bar across the top of the post. The account name (with group prefix/suffix) across the top and in a larger font, with roleplayed by (user) under it, along with member group (plain text/no prefix/suffix needed) in a smaller font just below their name. If the account has no parent account, the "roleplayed by" text/link should vanish. I'm using this to display the rp'd by/ooc account link on the main profiles, should work for the mini profiles as well. Field 2 is the only field you hould need for the template as well. <script> if('<!-- |parent_id| -->' == '0') { document.write('<a href="/index.php?act=Msg&CODE=04&MID=<!-- |id| -->">PM <!-- |author_name| --></a>'); } else if('<!-- |parent_id| -->' >= '1') { document.write('<b>Roleplayed by:</b> <a href="index.php?showuser=<!-- |parent_id| -->"><!-- |field_2| --></a> (<a href="/index.php?act=Msg&CODE=04&MID=<!-- |parent_id| -->">PM</a>)'); } </script> Forum width is about 800px, our avatar is 150x150px. I'm thinking of having the avatar on the right, the name/group/rp'd by in the center, and having online/offline status, postcount (with a link to view said posts) So overall height of the mini profile would probably be around 160px, give or take? And width stretching across the board. For the posting template itself, something simple, with all the usual things. Since the mini profile will be across the top of the post, the users should have ~780px of width for their own stuff. I'd love a working quick edit, though. Some differentition between the actual post and mini profile would be good, as well. Not overly flashy, but make it clear where one ends and the other begins, y'know? For colors, feel free to pick through my skin's css, #a0a0a0 is main font color though. #232323 or #121212 make nice background colors as well, or you could also make it stand out by using the blue on the .maintitle border or the background of the .titlemedium class. Fonts don't really matter to me, I'm still figuring out the main portion of the site myself, although I'm partial to serif types and all caps for that center bit. Also, feel free to ignore the main profiles if you're looking for ideas on style. Those are going to be redone, too, eventually.
  11. I am so confused. https://www.pirate-rp.site/index.php You need to use a mobile view, so inspect element away! Open up the menu up top. The menu sits on top of everything except the header's H2 and the forum images. Why?? ul.mobile-menu-content { position: relative; z-index: 9999; padding-top: 2rem; background: rgba(44, 105, 99, 1); list-style-type: none; text-align: center; font-size: 2rem; flex-direction: column; justify-content: space-between; } I can fix it by getting rid of the relative positioning on both the header and forum images, but they're positioned for a reason. I give them a z-index of 1, and they still appear on top. I thought that maybe flex was the problem, but removing flex had no effect. I've tried absolute and fixed positioning for the mobile menu content, with no change. I'm using Opera. I checked with Firefox, issue still present. Erm, anything else I can try? Am I missing the obvious?
  12. Could someone possibly provide a basic code for tabs within tabs for a template? We already have our tabbed template but we want to add tabs within one of the tabs and we aren't versed in jQuery and that seems to be the only way to do it. Could someone be amazing enough to provide the basic code for how to do that or just explain how to do it? I'll be forever grateful <3
  13. Earlier on today, I noticed that the discord widget has stopped working - more specifically, the connect/invite button isn't there anymore, meaning that no one can access it. Fortunately, I can access it if I go through the connect/invite button on a site which as an intact widget, so I can get into the server settings area, etc, but nothing I've tried will bring the widget back. When I try to make a new widget and reinstall it, the invite button is still missing (and this is after I've created a new server to see if that would fix the problem.) I've had a bug in the footer recently where the images weren't showing up, so is it an icyboard problem, or is it a problem with discord? If it's a problem with discord, I don't know that the settings are to fix it, or how to create my own widget which works.
  14. I've recently just started offering free hosting services for RPG admins. So far I've only had to create sites from the beginning for those wishing to start their own place, however I now have a fully created and active RPG wishing to move to my hosting as their host will be shutting down some time in 2018 (so I have plenty of time to get this done just need to start doing my research now and the sooner the better so it's over with for everyone). Unfortunately I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to transferring a forum from one host to my own host/server as well as how to transfer their domain name appropriately without issues. I would love to help them out but until I know what I'm doing I'm stuck. Any points in the right direction, links to read and availability to discuss this with you if you have experience please let me know. <b>What I know:</b> - The forum is MyBB. - The forum they are currently running is 1.8.7. This forum will need to be upgraded to 1.8.12 before the move? (I use Softaculous to install forum software as it is simple and removes any human error, it will install the most current version of MyBB which is 1.8.12 unless I don't need to do this?)
  15. Alright, so only recently did I start using the alert setup Jcink started offering. Now, it's great in theory, but as the skin was made pre-alerts it doesn't really do it justice, appearance wise, and now we have a transparent alert box when you click the ALERT button. It's a minor thing, but it's driving me up the wall. Where can I adjust the look of the alert box? Or what do I have to add to my .css to adjust it? I need some sort of background to it so it's actually easy to see when you do click it. I checked the css and board headers, but I didn't spot anything that was obviously linked to it. I'm not good with coding unless it's dirt simple or someone makes me a diagram, so I'm a little baffled. It looks like this right now:
  16. So I'm just reusing this post for a new problem we're having. The topics show up like this under the new skin: http://i.imgur.com/Qwi9jf5.png - there are some issues with it just as it is - like the text being cut off and the fact that it takes up wayyyy more space than it needs to. But what I actually want to know is how to change this so that it just displays the threads in a list like most forums do - and like our forum does now: http://i.imgur.com/ghU5pLW.png . This is also just too big of a change and I know my members will hate it. Plus - we have too many threads in each forum to use something like this that takes up this much space. I know how to make these smaller, but what I really want is to just display them like we have on our site now. If anyone could help that would be amazing. If you need it - the site we're testing on is http://sintesting.jcink.net/ and we're using JCINK premium.
  17. First and foremost let me preface this by saying these few things:: 1) I know it's a long shot that anyone will take my skin request. I've tried several times before, but it never hurts to attempt. 2) This request is not open anywhere else. I respect a designer and their hard work to much to set them on a task someone else is already completing. 3) Anything and everything you see below can be negotiable. I'm not HARD SET on things. If they clash, they clash, if it's illegible, it's illegible. Request Type: Skin Size: This is a full site skin, so I would like it to fit the screen naturually. I would like the header space to be 500x200, and the forums to be at least 550px in width in the sections where the posts show up. Code Type: Css and html, I suppose, along with whatever else you deem needed for a skin. I've never skinned before so I'm not so sure. Code Help: No. I am knowledgable in basic css and html, and can usually recognize problems, I also have installed skins before. Text/Font: Not particularly. I am happy with giving creative freedom here, as long as the font is legible and not to curly or tiny. Preferably about 14px, unless using a particularly small font in which case maybe a bit larger. Colors/Patterns: I like any of the following palettes, and am happy with which ever one you choose. I'm giving options because I know in some cases one just doesn't sit right. Choice One Choice Two Choice Three Examples: I do like pSinner but the forum descriptions are WAY to huge for me, as well as the moving cbox. This is nice too Ventage But, again, the forum bits are huge. Really, all in all, I'd like something unique, and fun, and awesome. SO NO PRESSURE. XD Link to Where It'll be Used: OneMoreDay Anything Else: [*]Even though I gave color scheme options, I do have a request that it isn't made to bright. For one, it's a horror themed darker plotted forum. For two, bright color on bright color on bright color burns the retinas. [*]I would definitely like a space FIXED on the side for a cbox. That is to say when you scroll the forum, I'd like for it to remain on the side where it is, not scroll away. [*]I do NOT like forums with those huge bulky description pieces. I like room for a written description, even a slender image strip, but those enormous bulky ones that take up tons of space just don't suit an RP environment in my opinion. [*]I would like to have blanket permission to change colors during holliday times, which will be moved about to match graphics of my own making for the site. This will NOT include any other changes, as I do NOT know what I'm doing for the most part on coding a skin, and have WAY more respect for someones hard work than that. I do, however, know enough coding to make posting templates, anchor boxes, and the like, and am perfectly comfortable with my ability to change a few colors without confusing myself or begging for help, or breaking anything. [*]I'd also like a place for a basic set of male/female statistic ratios, staff, an announcement box would be GREAT right on the front page, or IN the header somewhere. [*]One more thing. The bottom of the forum where it shows all the statistics, who is viewing the forum, who is the last to join, how many posts, that sort of thing. I like for it to be pretty and designed as well, instead of just a colored version of the basic list that comes with the jcink default skin.
  18. So, basically I have a million characters. And I know next to nothing about coding. What I'm after is an accordion style shipper in which I can condense my hoard down to boxes with their names that can be clicked and brought open with more information: Picture, personality, relationship, etc. Bonus points if I can colour coordinate/organize said boxes into groups. Extra bonus points if its easy to copy/paste to add more characters. Any suggestions?
  19. Hi! My current issue is that I am trying to figure out how to create a responsive grid layout (two columns for the forums/boards) on Jcink, similar to what you have here; however, a lot of the information out there is "outdated" and were made prior to the introduction of the HTML Templates. I am currently new to Jcink and I've spent days trying to learn how to use it and while I've figured some things out, this still evades me no matter what I read/look at so I feel a little way in over my head on where to start to get this going! Also my other issue is that I would like to move the avatar/mini-profile section on Jcink to the right rather than the left. I tried something like "direction: ltr" (can't remember if it was exactly this, just an example) but it ended up flipping the forums as well and I would like to only move the avatar/mini-profile to the right of posts and the like. If anyone could guide me or point me in the right direction, that would be nice! ~Heath (Hope I am doing this right)
  20. Once again, I'm working on my Jcink site. What I have set up, is that I modified the Forum Row html so that I could have the Board Name and description replaced by an image of my choosing; and select other information next to it. Essentially, below. Don't mind the mis-matched colors, this is the WIP skin The coding for the "Forum Row" editable is thus: <style> .newspaper { -webkit-column-count: 2; /* Chrome, Safari, Opera */ -moz-column-count: 2; /* Firefox */ column-count: 2; -webkit-column-gap: 40px; /* Chrome, Safari, Opera */ -moz-column-gap: 40px; /* Firefox */ column-gap: 40px; -webkit-column-rule-style: solid; /* Chrome, Safari, Opera */ -moz-column-rule-style: solid; /* Firefox */ column-rule-style: solid; } </style> <tr class='forum-row'> <td class="row2" width="100%"> <div class="newspaper"> <b><a class="tooltip" tooltip="<!-- |description_clean| -->" href="?showforum= <!-- |forum_id| --> " alt="<!-- |name| -->"><!-- |description| --></a></b><br><br> <span class='forum-led-by'> <!-- |subforums_list| --><br> Newest: <!-- |last_topic| --> By: <!-- |last_poster| --> On: <!-- |last_post| --></span></span> </td></div> </td> </tr> Now, here's where it gets tricky. Basically I have the name of the forum nixed and the image is being read from the Description field where you create/modify the forum. What I'm trying to do, is create a conditional statement that changes the image based upon what skin the user is, well, using. This is what I've entered so far (after hours of trying various modifications, as well as Java's conditional instead which I couldn't figure out either). <!--[if Skin_value=6]> <img src='http://files.jcink.net/uploads/onyxtreaty/BloodRose_Images/legendsrules.png'> <![endif]--> <!--[if Skin_value=6]> <img src='http://files.jcink.net/uploads/onyxtreaty/BloodRose_Images/legendsrules.png'> <![endif]--> Granted, utilizing the javascript conditional statement left me with it showing the default image no matter what modifications I made to it. Using the code above...it actually made the image disappear (Hence why there's an image missing in the photo). I THINK my main problem is that I can't seem to figure out how to make the code pull up the skin choice as a variable. I've tried by Skin Id; Skin Name; Skin Value, and written in multiple forms. Granted, I have very little idea what I'm doing and could be totally mucking up the conditional statements entirely. I just give up and need some extra eyes.
  21. I'm working on a site in Jcink, and I'm rather unfamiliar with its coding (this is my first time going outside of Proboards, who's administrative structure I really love). Is there a code that would let me replace the "New/Old" field and the board title/description with a single image? Previously I had it set up with a regular New/Old pair of images, the board title unalterated, and just had a small image in the description. Being that my old image host decided to go POOF (loosing me most of my stuff admittedly) I started looking for something that might give a little...Pizzaz, without completely wrecking the forum layout. Even if it just merges the title and description while leaving the New/Old undisturbed.
  22. Heya. Baby coder here. I mean baby. Like infantile. So my board is on jcink and I'm looking for a way to add graphic images to the side panel of the posters. Particularly groups of admins, but, at the same time, if possible, not change the groups. For example. If someone was a werewolf, and they were in the werewolf group. They could also be a "Staff" and have a graphic saying "Staff". I have all the graphics done myself, it's just how do I apply these terms and pictures to the profiles? @_@
  23. I posted a request for a bbcode template on a proboards resource site about a month ago, but no one took it on and I got no reply even though I asked if there was a problem with it (because coders I find can be a bit funny sometimes.) This is why I'd like a proper guide with all the bbcodes that work in proboards and showing me what it does so I can make them myself without having to ask someone to do it for me. The proboards guide only shows you how to do the simple stuff. (I only said I wasn't bothered about a deadline because I didn't want it to look like I was being pushy with it.) Any help would be appreciated. Type: Posting template for role-play and story posts. Scheme: I'd like this to be changeable, depending on the character the post is for. Fonts: Arial, Tahoma, Verdana, or trebuchet ms, sizes 12-14pt for the main body of the text. Georgia or impact at 18 - 36pt for the title. (I would like a google font if the bbcode works for it on proboards, New Rocker or Metal Mania, but I'm not sure if it does.) Graphics: I would like the graphics to be changeable, as I'd like the template to be used by myself on different characters I write for and to be used by other members. It's a fall back for if the NPC plugin gets full and there needs to be something to differentiate between characters. Place holder images would be great, but if it helps, I can suggest a character for a theme to base the template around. Layout: I'd like it to have a header for the character it represents, including the character's name (which is where the title comes in), and an image which will include the face claim or art work that represents a character, a repeatable background image for main text and a closing footer with a background image. The code itself should be quite simple so that users who aren't familiar with bbcode can use it. The template itself should be 500px in length and non-scrollable so that longer posts are easy to read. I'd also like the corners of the template to be curved with a radius of 100px. Plugins: Unsure. I do have the NPCs plugin on the board, but I don't know if it will effect the bbcode as I'm not overly familiar with it. Deadline: I'm not too fussed with the deadline. Other: If there's any questions just ask.
  24. Ok, so I am having a bit of an issue with the mini-profile on this lovely skin. I am sure it's something really simple, but I don't want to mess up with coding, because I can't figure out where point a ends and point b begins. I need to figure out the profile fields etc. http://isleofkistvaen.jcink.net/ Here's mah board. I'll message ya more info if you want o help :3
  25. I'm basically looking for a code that'd randomise the images under 'Wanted Characters' (example - take a moment to admire that beautiful red oval) whenever someone refreshes the page, because that'd allow me to display more than just four characters at any given time. I'm not sure how to do it myself, but I've seen it done for banners and things, so I'm hoping it isn't too awkward a thing to do. Any help would be appreciated!
