Have you ever truly explored trying to 'create a fictional world with science fiction and fantasy elements?' In order to write a good story, or create a fictional world based on whatever interests you have, you need to learn as much as you can about them. Science Fiction is a broad variation of things and there are many fantasy aspects already embedded in the genre. Science ‘Fiction’ – The word Fiction dictates that it is imaginary or a ‘fantasy’ in a sense. So you already have a story with fantasy elements and science fiction elements. Now it really depends on where you wish to go with your fictional world. What kind of creatures, people, and items are there in your fantasy world? Is your world filled with Supernatural beings, is it a world based on the real world, with a few ‘fictional’ or fantasy aspects? How much of fantasy do you want and how realistic do you want it to turn out? There are so many ways to answer this question as it all depends on you and what you want your reader to know, see, feel, taste, etc. Some of the best fantasy novels have their roots in science, because it takes science to create a viable and believable fantasy world. Science serves as a base to anchor the whimsical elements. Even with its analytical nature, science can only takes us so far. There is just so much out there we don’t know. We’re still discovering uncategorized animals and plant species, and there’s an ongoing debate over whether time is infinite. No matter how analytical science becomes, there is always room for imagination. -

What was that cartoon? Where the main character entered and would say... HERE I AM TO SAVE THE DAYYYYYYYYYY Wait.... it was... who WAS it? I was thinking Underdog, but he had his own hero song. And then I thought it might be Mickey Mouse... but... nope. NOT Mickey Mouse... dang.... OH OH I KNOW I KNOW It was MIGHTY MOUSE!!! I'm not here to save the day for EVERYONE!! Just those that I can. I'm an active player. Great imagnation. Can create a character on the fly, too. My interests are geared more toward the following: Historical (as accurate as I can get it a bit of flamboyance tossed in for SPARKS); fantasy -- I like dragons and am very good at transitioning. I am also creative and wordy. Yes, very wordy. I came to be here by way of Cosima and I am looking forward to meeting those of like mind and being introduced to NEW games and anything else that's adventurous and can be found here or there!

Hello everyone, I'm new to RPG Initiative but also on RPG Directory and even Reddit. I'm a veteran role player for online, freeform and text-based storytelling style RPGs. Basically, I love to write and I have a big imagination and I adore being around likeminded creative spirits. I'm also a veteran of Worlde Arcane, which was my favourite game for long time but it no longer exists. Just mentioning it in case anyone comes across this post and wants to reconnect. Looking forward to being a part of the community. I don't just advertise on directories like this, I use them as a Game Master resource to talk shop with other Admins and Mods and get ideas, etc. etc. Oh, and as the subject said, I'm from Canada (Toronto)! Hello! I'm Lunarchild but you can call me Lunar for short! I've been RPing since 2009. My favorite genre is fantasy - I can really dig my claws into a fantasy rpg. Though I will play any genre except sci-fi. I prefer to roleplay on a forum site because I do work 8:30 - 5:30 Monday - Friday so I feel like I don't miss as much as on a Chat based site. Let's see, I don't have a favorite book but my favorite movie is Bad Teacher (mainly because I AM a teacher). I love Taylor Swift's music. I am a total Swiftie. My favorite show is currently Pretty Little Liars and Orange is the New Black. I take photos and scrapbook in my spare time but haven't done it in a while. Currently my interest is cardio. Haha! No really thought, Working out I have found is a great stress reviler. My favorite color is pink and red and my favorite drink is unsweet iced- tea.

For those of us who like to roleplay wizards or other magic users, we find ourselves with a small list of spells that the author or creator of the universe has provided for us to use. Often times, your character can be faced with a situation where they need a spell that doesn't exist yet in their universe - and that's okay! The beautiful thing about RP is that we get to expand our favorite fandom universes to allow for our own ideas. For this guide, I'll be dealing mostly with the Potterverse, but this can apply to other fantasy fandoms with magic users as well. Step 1: What kind of spell do you need? You first need to determine the type of spell you're looking for. Is it a spell your character will be using for a routine task? Are they in a duel? Trying to show off for their friends? In any case, you need to make sure the spell you're looking for exists or not. For example: in the Potterverse, you might need to use a Freezing Charm - that certainly exists, but there is no incantation for it. And in other cases, the spell and incantation you need might not exist at all. Step 2: What is the incantation? For figuring out the actual "magic words" you can do pretty much anything - I personally like to stick to the same kind of etymology as the majority of spells in the established canon. Let's stick with our Freezing Charm example - most Potterverse spells are in Latin, so we'll stick with Latin. Thanks to Google Translate, we don't have to be fluent in the language to make the incantation. We'll go to Google Translate and start playing around with Latin words. Because we're looking for something to use for a Freezing Charm, you might enter the words "to freeze," "cold," or even "to stick" - use your imagination! I decided to go with "ice," because in Latin, Google Translate gives me "Glacio" as a verb. For spells and charms that don't exist at all, you just do the same thing: figure out what you're wanting your spell to do, hit up Google Translate, and pick something you like. And there you go! There's your spell. You can use this for other things as well - fictional diseases, books in other languages, etc. I hope you go out and create a whole new world of spells!
