Hello,

Recently I updated to the latest mybb and it reset some global templates which messed up my theme/skin. I am hoping some one can help me out and fix it as its above my abilities to so. Luckily for me its cached on google cache before it borked. Could some one help me out please?

Well I'm trying to duplicate the scrrenshot you posted above and I can't get that overlapping issue. I've tried both FF and Chrome. Can you tell me the version you're using?

In addition to the above:

It's mostly fine for me on opera. But you said that it was fine prior to the update? This is very strange because I did an update today without any issues.

How long has it been since your last update?

And did you back up your site before updating?

It was a while before my last update. Like 1.8.13 to 1.8.19 i think. I cant say what version of chrome i have as i am not at home presently.

Also sadly i forgot to back it up. So welp not happening on that end. I know the update reverted some global templates.

Next question for you: is the sidebar janky when you're logged out?

Let us know when you're on your desktop!

I'm just trying to narrow down what templates are likely involved.

How is it when you're logged out and looking at it as a guest?

@Starlit

After looking around the ACP I did notice that two files are not verifying correctly, their status is set as changed and this may cause issues in the forseeable future. I would suggest getting these re-uploaded ASAP from the 1.8.19 download. The two files in question are: codemirror.js AND global.lang.php below I have given the exact address of the files and where you can locate them. Just upload and rewrite with the files from 1.8.19 download these two files specifically.

admin/jscripts/codemirror/lib/codemirror.js
inc/languages/english/global.lang.php

Regarding the custom coding from what I can tell everything seems to boil down to specifically CSS. For some reason parts of your CSS are missing compared to the cached version google gives us. This is very odd considering MyBB upgrades do not touch CSS or templates (all template changes have to be forced via the "Find Updated Templates" section if I remember correctly).

My suggestion is to contact your coder and ask them to view source via the old version (cache from google) and add back in the missing elements to the live version, that is the only thing I can think of to do other than asking your host for a backup from that date (most hosts can send you a backup but some do require payment for such).

An example of what I mean by the CSS missing would be like in the .forum-block class.
Cache Version

.forum-block {
    min-height: 170px;
    box-sizing: border-box;
    width: 100%;
    overflow: auto;
    padding: 9px;
    display: inline-block;
}

Live Version

.forum-block {
    max-height: 150px;
    overflow: auto;
    padding: 9px;
    display: inline-block;
}

You'll see that box-sizing and width are missing and that the max-height is also different.

And a friendly reminder, ALWAYS create a backup of your software AND site files before doing upgrades. This document has great tips on how to prepare for upgrade and performing the upgrade (explains what to do before backup like turning off all plugins).

Welp then there is not much i can do as there is no back up on my hosts end and the coder that worked on that damn thing has gone awol. Literally as soon as i finished paying the guy off he went poof and has not once responded to any of my messages.
