ThriftStoreTeeth 78 Share Posted April 26, 2020 (edited) I've got a bit of a weird issue here. I opened my site up in an incognito tab because I'd set a few subforums so guests could post in them by accident, but wasn't sure which and wanted to check them super quick. When the homepage loaded, there was just... no CSS for guests, no matter how many times I refresh the page in both Chrome and Firefox. It doesn't seem to matter if I'm on the homepage, forum main page, or the rules page I've got linked in the nav bar. Switching the site between open and closed in the admin panel doesn't seem to do anything either. The weird thing is, it seems to work if I open up individual subforums or threads, switch the theme (even selecting the default light theme again), try to login/register, or click the link to go back to the index that's in the nav. I'm almost positive it was working earlier, the CSS is being called if you check source code, and I haven't touched anything on the themes pages in the admin panel (aside from taking a peek at the templates and quietly noping out for the moment). I'm just... stumped here... Aside from that issue though, I'm genuinely loving Vesta, and I'm sorry I keep breaking things/being dumb. I just have a way of breaking things in strange ways... Here's the link if you need it ETA: The alerts and messages links don't seem to be working for me at the moment. Not sure if that's a known bug, or its just me herping my derp too hard and doing a dumb. Its working fine for member accounts though. Just not admin accounts though, but I found a way to force the dropdown to appear so I could clear them (inspect element rules) for now. Riseoftheg 25 Share Posted April 26, 2020 I'm loving Vesta too. (I hit a snag myself but that was probably more operator error than anything else).
ThriftStoreTeeth 78 Author Share Posted April 26, 2020 @Riseoftheg I'm definitely using it for every site from now on, and demanding that my friends do the same... If Arceus doesn't have my head for breaking so much stuff so quickly, but that's just me lol Also, I may hop in tonight and change the favicon and header image... Just because I know I said in my OP that I hadn't touched anything in the templates, so figured I might as well note that now lol
Riseoftheg 25 Share Posted April 26, 2020 @ThriftStoreTeethlikewise! Definitely worth every dollar for donationware, wish I had discovered it sooner
ThriftStoreTeeth 78 Author Share Posted April 26, 2020 @Riseoftheg 100%! After the install, its beyond n00b friendly (though sadly not me-proof). I kept sending a non-RPer friend of mine screenshots of the admin panel and yelling at him about it, and even he's in love with it!
Arceus 1,081 Share Posted April 26, 2020 In application/config/settings.php, change the url from http to https, I forgot to do this. Vesta is trying to use http by default but the hosting wants to use https by default, so it's refusing to cross load the CSS. 1 I am the darkness, always watching, always listening, ALWAYS THERE. ThriftStoreTeeth 78 Author Share Posted April 26, 2020 @Arceus I'll keep saying it, but you're honestly the best! That worked perfectly! Thank you!
