Jalue2002 1 Share Posted August 7, 2020 I am currently designing an online political RPG which allows players to run their own virtual nation. I am working to create some legislation, policies, etc for members to implement that will effect certain aspects of their nation. I have a pretty good list of some so far but I know that I can add a few more. Here is what I have so far: Agricultural Subsidies Border Control CCTV Cameras Curfews Disability Benefit Firearms Law Free School Lunches ID Cards Sunday Shopping National Service Jury Trial Assault Bribery Burglary Murder Prostitution Rape Armed Police Death Penalty Speed Limit Prisons Social Media News Websites Pornography Websites Pornography Viewing Age Lotteries Lottery Legal Age Casinos Casino License Casino Legal Age Online Gambling Online Gambling Age Online Gambling License Tobacco Marijuana Alcohol Law Drinking Age Cocaine Heroin LSD Methamphetamine Nationalize Health Care Abortion Insurance Assisted Suicide Public Smoking Creationism Faith School Subsidies Prayer in School Funding Type College Education Legality of Unions Youngest Age Of Employment Minimum Wage Labor Strikes Freedom of Religion Freedom of Speech Freedom of Choice Freedom of the Press Adultery Polygamy Gay Marriage Any help with additional ones would be greatly appreciated. clipsed 231 Share Posted August 16, 2020 I've played a game called Democracy 3 before where essentially you're running the government of a country. They have a bunch of policies that you can implement in your country--take a gander through the list?
Jalue2002 1 Author Share Posted August 16, 2020 I have used some of them from the game. That is where most of my list has come from.
Bluepillar 11 Share Posted August 19, 2020 As long as u don't allow fascist members to go on homicidal anti-semitic rants and then say I agitated them bt existing, I'm s7re it'll go well. You should add some intellectual property laws, as well as land confiscation laws (especially for public use), and a bunch of ither stuff. But, admittedly, instead of potentially restricting players it'd be a better idea, in my mind, to create a dynamic events based system with guidelines and what not that responds to changes in nations through staff. Some sites, like ModernNations and Nationstates, and, etc, will already have econonical and military systems to emulate. I will say, tjo, I HATE military building and will join if it isn't a spreadsheet simulato4. Designing tech? Fine. It's not usually complicated. Tedious. Building of the military? Ew. Jalue2002 1 Author Share Posted August 19, 2020 I considered doing something similar to NationStates where you could receive different events and choose an option which would effect your nations economy, civil rights, etc. but I am not a computer programmer so the only way I could was by using custom surveys. That was turning into a hassle and couldn't really find one I liked. I want their to be a sense of roleplay but also a sense of the strategy/geopolitical games I enjoy. Right now, the nation management is done through Google Sheets with some formulas making it slightly dynamic but I am always open to other suggestions. I want it to be as dynamic and user friendly as possible but also as hands off for me as I am the only one working on it right now.
