Most people don't have favorite minerals (borax, the compound, is used in a lot of cleaning supplies, thus the name) so I figured I'd throw in a weird one. Also, it was a Futurama reference. Kinda. Katja 6 Author Share Posted October 1, 2014 @Amelia -- There aren't any that I'd consider really funny because everything is super ignorant or super racist... The worst was probably, back shortly after 9/11, and my friend was visiting us from New Jersey with her parents. (I grew up in New Mexico.) Their neighbor was like "Well, that's not even part of the US, don't you need a passport and a green card to go there?" And my dad had to explain to my friend's mom why this was not at all the case. (New Mexico has been part of the United States since January 6, 1912... sooo.... fail...)
