The first answer seemed to satisfy Krepta. The second, not so much. She frowned at him, and for a moment she seemed to be sizing him up. "Let's hope it doesn't come to that," was all she said. Because if it did, then she'd have to stop him. Killing wasn't an option, and the destruction of someone's world was unacceptable. She turned and looked over her shoulder, down the mountain at the lonely remains of the village. "There are some things you can't take back."

Part of a Bat-Post

There was no noise to signal his arrival. One moment there was just the night, the natural shadows of the city, and then one of those shadows separated itself from the rest, stepping out into the relative light of the clock tower. The shadow formed itself into a vaguely man like shape, though the sharp points of the ears atop his cowl made him look decidedly less.

"You're a long way from home," was all he said.

I am hilariously proud of this one, despite its shortness 😄 it was just too funny an image to not do!

(This is in response to a plot random event that hit the thread - an earthquake ;D)

The blade pierced deeply, and the thing shrieked; it writhed in an effort to get away, but blood spurted hot from the wrenching wound, and its struggles lacked strength. Arnus appeared in the branches overhead and grinned as it sank to the ground, perched like a bird in the uppermost branches.

"You're pretty good, Winged Knight," he said, amused. Dropping down to a low branch, he looked at the now-dead serpent and smirked. "You know, Verridith wouldn't-"

Suddenly, a roar of sound filled the air; caught off guard, Arnus looked up and around, expecting enemies... but then came a violent jolt that knocked the elf prince from his perch, scrambling to hold on as the forest around them convulsed in waves. He clambered up onto the branch again and tried to shout something, but another wave from the quake hit, and he jumped down beside Kari as the entire tree uprooted and fell.

Trees were falling all around them, then, as the earth tore itself apart. A rift opened not ten feet away and he took an involuntary step back, realizing with an elven curse that both horses had fled. "To the fallen tree!" he shouted. "It'll give us some cover!"

And the earth roared again; and the ground split beneath their feet.

Okay. Mao stopped laughing; a thundershock hardly sounded appealing. He glowered back at the thief. Also, that rude comment! As if nobody wanted Mao! He'd show him! Mao let the sack drop to his feet and then he stepped over it quite deliberately, ignoring the two pokemon that stood in his path. (Probably not a great idea in hindsight.)

He reached out to grasp the back of the man's neck to drag him closer, since doing the whole hand slap against the wall thing wasn't as easy to do on a flimsy tent wall.

"Plenty of people want me," he said, "but you're not getting this meowstic, understand?"

Mao is a meowstic shifter. He is currently naked in human form. So the double entendre in his comment makes me laugh.

Reality is an illusion.
