I've been rping on/off for about 10 years now (the realisation has hit me that that means I've been rping for half of my life, I am now sitting at my desk like ) My favourite RP genres are definitely post-apoc and animal-based ones, gotta love fighting for your life, and then chilling with your lion pride at the end of a busy day!
