The Community Feel

I join or leave a forum purely based on the type of community it has. The first few moments I spend in a Shout box or discord channel decides whether I'd enjoy spending time with/collaborating with the members. It tells me what they will and won't accept, how open I can be in a chat, and gives me ample time to plan plots in advance while creating a character. If a roleplay community has a shut-in and foul community, I don't give it my time.

Obviously, this is a double-edged way of thinking, since it can also prevent me from finding good communities due to all things being perspective based.
