I went through a phase where I was really into space art. As always I have a kinda "need to be able to do it" drive when I get into something. It's basically how I've learned everything I know. This is one of the final space scenes I did, it's all photoshop. The planet was created via many layers of work, water, land, clouds, etc all have some sort of depth which I was really proud of. By this point I was also pretty decent with brushwork so I was happy with that as well. The moon I actually cheated on, I had a picture of a rock wall that I used to texture the land and give it some depth of it's own. -

This is the more blog style version two layout for Cyberpunk Nexus. This screenshot came just a few weeks after the site shifted to it's new framework. -

So I'm a big fan of the Smashing Pumpkings. In 2007 and 2008 I was doing a lot of work on vectoring, intending to get better at is as I wasn't very good when I started (I was much better at abstract and brushwork.) This was based off a image from Rolling Stone I think, some magazine with Billy and Washburn guitar (unusual for him.) I liked the image so I chose it to vector, I've always liked this one. -

One of the last abstract things I did, it was a concept I was toying with whilst working on my RPG Host Cyberpunk Nexus. The render was made in 3D Studio Max, brush work, background, and texturing all done in photoshop post-render. -

A more modern layout of mine, this was made for a project called DragonBall Zenith. Zenith is a concept for a DBZ RPG built entirely in my project "Chimera Engine" which utilizes heavy scripting to handle full profile and stat RPG management. Overall this is one of my favorite layouts and while the RPG itself has never moved past conceptual design one day I hope to finish it. There's a second version to this layout as well, as the entire site framework was to be built to allow easy theme swapping. -

In keeping with my attempts to keep this archive updated on a daily basis (As of right now it will just be screen captures of layouts until I get the archive section of the site up and running where I will be able to archive HTML pages, images, RP Threads, etc) I decided added the original Dystopia Productions layout to the image archive would be a good choice for today. I was really fond of this layout when I created it, and I guess I still am, I hate to see it go but the change is needed. This Layout holds a important place in my history, being the corner stone to a place where I did actually manage to create the framework and host a RPG that ran for enough time for me to have enjoyed RPing there. Hopefully more times like that will happen here on DysPro, time will tell.© http://dystopiapro.com

Cyberpunk Nexus (Version 1)

Ah good old Cyberpunk Nexus, the biggest, more daring thing I ever did online. For those of you who are unaware of what CPN was, here’s a small history lesson. In 2008 MSN announced that their Groups service would be closing. For many of us, me included, MSN Groups had been a home where we hosted our RPGs. With Groups out of the picture we were going to have to find a new home. I thought it would be a good idea to build that home myself. CPN ended up being a 2 year venture and for a good while a very successful one. This layout was launched with the site and served as our theme for the first year before all the true work was done to automate everything and which came with a new design. In the end this is probably my most detailed and best done layout. There are many versions and so much work into it, more than a screenshot can capture, that’s for sure.© http://dystopiapro.com

Blood Splatters Pink

I really don’t have a lot of back story to go with this one, even though on DeviantART it’s actually one of my most +fav’d submissions. Pretty much I had this render, which I did in Cinema4D, it’s from a set I did which I used for a lot of my wallpapers of this period. I really liked how it flowed and I didn’t want to put any kind of texture on it or do any heavy brushing to it. I decided a splatter backing it would work (something I had experimented with before on an earlier wallpaper and liked) but didn’t want to do something dark so I played around with the colors for awhile and decided on pink. After that I threw in a motion blur behind that and a nice glossy finish on top of everything. It’s really a pretty simple wallpaper,. not much involved with it at all but I guess it captures my favoritism of minimalism.© http://dystopiapro.com

Dream of Change

From the album: Dystopia's Portfolio
This is an old one, I think I originally created this wallpaper in 2005 and if I remember correctly it was for a GFX Battle which I won, on create I believe. Dream of Change as I called it was meant to reflect my vision of a neuron firing off during a dream, but clearly there is more to it than just that core concept. The render was created in 3D Studio Max 7, and honestly is pretty poor but I liked the shape of it. It had no texture to it and all the post work was done in Photoshop, displaying some of my early brushwork. I’m still pretty fond of this one, it takes me back, though clearly I was just starting out doing bigger pieces like this one.© http://dystopiapro.com

Lifeless is a pretty significant wallpaper to me, it was the first really serious piece of artwork I ever did. Not to say it was my first wallpaper as I had been dabbling in the medium for awhile before Lifeless but up until that point I was really just learning the ropes. As a statement though Lifeless also means a lot to me personally, as it represents a pretty tough period in my life and was a major help getting though it. Lifeless was created completely in photoshop, and still to this day probably is the wallpaper I spent the most time working on, 10s of hours went into the brushwork (probably because at the time I didn’t really know what I was doing and there was a lot of trial and error) and I think it shows!© http://dystopiapro.com
