Leo is a native to Pine Creek, having enjoyed a decent childhood there. He went to school there, married there, saw his daughter born in Pine Creek.

It was also where he lost his family to a drunk driver some years back, the tragedy of it hitting him hard. What he had for a small family died in the accident, and though Leo put in an effort to find out what happened, he only came up with shady details. As for the driver, the witness testimonies told of a perfectly sane and good man suddenly going off his rocker, mumbling something about a voice inside his head just before he'd taken to the wheel. The driver was condemned to a mental asylum after the accident, lost to those voices still talking to him, the man claiming he'd been trying to kill a monster that had been stalking him. He killed himself in his room sometime after, so the mystery of it was left unsolved for Leo.  

The man is currently working at the Pine Creek PD as an assistant, Leo continuously making everyone amazed at his ability of organizing things down to the smallest detail while somehow making sure there's always fresh coffee ready. He seems to be able to manage and remember a thousand things at the same time, remembering where folks have left their things, when someone's kid has a birthday or if the chief has forgotten to eat his meal again. He is very much loved and appreciated by the folks working at the PD, but beneath the cheerful disposition the loss of his family still haunts him.
