Hi there! We’re looking for more family members to be part of the Cromwells. Please make sure to read through the below so that you know a bit about what the Cromwells as a family are like.

First and foremost, the Cromwells have been a force to be reckoned with since the late 1800s when Eric Cromwell founded Cromwell, Inc., a magical architect and construction firm, alongside his brother (who later left the company). While the Cromwells are not so “old money” that their ancestors came over during the revolution, at this point, it’s hard for anyone to not connect the Cromwells with wealth, class, and prestige. (Think Kennedys → liberal ideals + some hoity-toity uptightness)

The Cromwells are Irish Catholic by blood, and proud of it. They are primarily devout Catholics who do not believe in divorce and have relatively large families. That said, they are by and large open-minded, kind, and quite liberal in their views – even if they don’t apply those views to themselves. (For instance, a Cromwell is likely to be genuinely excited for a friend to marry a lower class or half-blood witch, but that same Cromwell might intentionally date only high class, purebloods because of the pressure of expectations of the Family Name.)

The Family Name is a major component of every Cromwell’s life. They have a legacy that they have to live up to and they know it. Most have a checklist in their mind of what they need to do, who they have to marry, and how they need to appear to the public from the time they are in elementary school. Every respectable Cromwell is a Pukwudgie, attends Le Fay, marries another pureblood with money in their twenties, and has 2-5+ biological children. Many run for office, open businesses, practice law, work for Cromwell Inc and are intermingled with politics. They are expected to be polished and carry themselves with dignity.

They have relatively frequent get-togethers for religious and federal holidays as well as an annual family reunion where Great Uncle Patty puts together announcements of births, deaths, anniversaries, and big events and the entire group gets a little tipsy at Thomas’ beachside mansion on Cape May.
