Juju Bean
This is my lil buddy Jujubean. (His full name was Julius.) This picture is the culmination of all the work I did rehabilitating him. He was found by a family friend, starved and skeletal and, I found out later, terrified to eat anything a human gave him. Yes, he was afraid to eat, guys. Over the next year, I got him familiar with our regular vet as I had all kinds of check-ups and wellness appointments made, and got some advice on how to feed him. He was on dehydrated food for a bit, to see if the scent coaxed him into eating. It took a lot of work and reassurance, but, by the time this picture was snapped, he was eating without me having to reassure him that it was okay. He was a fox terrier/Jack Russell mix. Unfortunately, not long after this, he got loose and was hit by a car. One of the apartment complex next door's mowers saw what happened, and showed me where he was. The poor mower must've felt pretty bad about it, because the news made me cry quite loudly all the way home, but he was kind enough to block traffic with his mower so Yume could bring Juju home for his funeral. RIP my baby boy. I was then, and still am now, very proud of you.
