Hosting community events/activities

We've been doing this for a couple years now, hosting casual events every couple of months like AO Day* and Movie Nights*. 

 

AO Day is when we all make time for RPing on a specific day so the chat is poppin' and threads can move quick for a day. 

 

For Movie Night, we use When's Good or Doodle to pick a time, then a gdoc to nominate and vote on something to watch, then we host the watch in Discord.

 

What other community events have you seen work well?

 

* Our timezones span the globe, so AO Day is really AO weekend, and Movie Nights are in the morning for many of us.

Oh, the movie night is such a good idea.  I'm always looking for ways to make the game feel like a community, not just a collection of people writing.
