Guest Archaic Cyborg Share Posted March 10, 2016 I used to be part of a game where the staff enforced their rules (shock horror!) when it came to activity, particularly. And there was the occasional person who pitched a fit because they had to give up a character and/or drop a WIP one. They didn't seem to understand that apping new characters every week didn't help the game, because they never actually used said characters. They'd just app X because their best friend brought in Y, and since XY is a pairing or whatever, HOLY SHIT IT MUST BE DONE. I like it when staff enforce activity, so long as RL > RP. There's always a line, of course, of how far you can exempt people from role calls. If someone has a good record of contributing, then while they don't 'deserve' free passes all the time, they're more trustworthy than someone who regularly apps and drops new characters every second day. If someone can app 10 characters a month but only uses 3, they should focus on just those 3 or so. It's no good having something that no one else can use, e.g characters on the shelf.
