Welcome to Preptober! Periodically during the month of October, I'll be posting discussion topics that challenge you to think about your story and where you're going with it. You also get a small amount of points for your NaNo House for participating, so you can get your house an early lead during Preptober! If you had a House last year, you'll remain in it this year; if you don't have one yet, pop into the House thread and ask for one!

Our next topic for Preptober is: Introduce us to your favourite side character.

Liberty Lee. She's geeky and clumsy, the kind of girl you imagine the popular girls harass a lot (but they don't because Liberty did the smart thing and made friends with a cheerleader). But she's also pretty wise and down to earth, has a fairly practical approach to a lot of things. She's also where all of my Hispanic feels went (she is Chinese).

I am the darkness, always watching, always listening, ALWAYS THERE.
(If you're interested in Plain of Ice, message me, it's private. Bleach site, non-canon.)

Romantic interest's younger sister (YS) that the main character befriends.

MC starts out pursuing medical field, burns out fast, but is a senior available for house advice/tutoring/etc. and meets her talking through intro stuff + his ill fated medical experience.

YS goes a reverse path of him: starts out lukewarm about it, under-performer academically, and primarily just Considering Her Options, but then actually gets on the field and likes every (every) aspect of it. Magical academy selects for competitive rather than competent, and YS ends up with a bloated ego and gung-ho about some of the more eccentric beliefs of magical academy's 17th century-esque medical philosophies in the process.
