Staffing Where does Panfandom end and Unique begin?

For me, I'm drawing on a lot of inspiration for my (still a) work in progress Sci-Fi site. Now there are a lot of things that I'm drawing the inspiration from and will suggest people watch/read to really get a feel for the setting but the overall setting is one hundred percent my design. I know it's not a pan-fandom as the fandom's themselves aren't included nor is their canon information or characters. So for me I'm pretty confident that this would be considered my unique idea but it brought to me the question:

 

Where does Panfandom end and Unique story begin?

 

For me it's when you don't actually use the information from any given fandom and draw/give inspiration from it. That's where I draw the line. What about you?
