So, I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation that I'm not aware of, but I need to rant a little bit because I'm frustrated (and I may be frustrated because there's some context I'm missing, or somesuch):
I need 10 posts in order to be able to put my site on the directory, access themes, add anything to the playby directory, etc. I get that, I'm guessing it's to prevent people coming on here and posting porn or spam or taking stuff without giving credit. This isn't the first site I've joined with a post-minimum requirement, and while I'm not a fan, I can understand why sites would choose to implement this requirement.
Yet, seemingly arbitrarily, half the site is (coded/designated/whatever the term is) such that it does not contribute to post count. Personally, I don't get anything out of discussion topics; it's like being an introvert forced to make small talk, it's painful and makes it harder for me to engage, not easier. It also seems to put at a disadvantage users who, like myself, don't necessarily want/need to request lots of graphics or coding help or the like.
... I had a couple other points to make but my train of thought left the station without me. Anyway, if there's some clarification to be had, I'd be grateful.
EDIT: Apparently this is one board that does not contribute to the post count, which is adding to my frustration. Which boards do or don't increase post count??
