Hey there everyone! New to RPG initiative, although I've seen your button around multiple sites I've never gotten around to joining... but here I am now!

  • How long have you been RPing? I have been roleplaying for maybe around 2 years now... some may still call me a newbie! I feel like I've grown to love the RP community wholeheartedly, everyone I have come across seems genuinely pleasant and easy to get along with.
  • What are your favorite RP genres? My absolute favourite RP genre is the Hunger Games! Quite a lacking genre nowadays, but I can't honestly get enough of it! I actually run an AU Hunger Games site I loved it that much!
  • How do you like to RP (Forum, chat, email)? Forum all the way!
  • What country are you from? I am from the United Kingdom!
  • What is your favorite book, movie or type of music (or all three)? Favourite book... a stretch between Hunger Games & Harry Potter... Favourite Movie, the exact same two... Type of music, probably alternative rock!
  • What other interest/Hobbies do you have? I am studying a masters in psychological research methods so I suppose you could say psychology is an interest of mine! I also enjoy singing, socialising, movies, drawing etc!
  • What's your favorite color? Turquoise!

Pleased to meet you!

Welcome to the Initiative, Suzi! A fellow UKer! I've always been curious what a Hunger Games roleplay would be like, I've seen a few but mostly on other sites' roleplay sections so they rarely finish. As you can tell from my signature, I'm also a HP fan, though it's only recently that I actually read the Hunger Games books... Meant to years ago, everybody told me to, but I put it off until this year. What's your favourite book of each series?

Hi hello! Thanks for the kind welcome! :)  Hunger Games RP is a whole lot of fun, we have completed two games on ATO (Against The Odds), and are currently amidst the pregames for our 3rd games on the site. Previous to this site, I was a part of an older site that has unfortunately become inactive now, but that one completed about 8 games over the course of 2 years! Love HP to death, although I have never actually Roleplayed it! I think for the HP series, the Order of the Pheonix is my favourite. For THG, the first book will always be my favourite. :D How about you?

The site actually has a Discord server! Would you like me to invite you there? (I can't remember where the link is!)

Wow! That's awesome. I've always wondered how HG RPs handle deciding the winners and so on (I assume stat systems / dice rolls are easiest, but never been a part of one to know). I'm amazed that that site managed to complete 8 games in 2 years, in a good way of course!

My favourite HP book would be Goblet of Fire, closely followed by Order of the Phoenix! And same on HG - that first book, damn. Just brilliant attention to detail, same with the second. Haven't yet finished the third because I've misplaced the book XD

We have a combat system in place which makes use of dice rolls - weapons have differing rolls ranging all the way up to 1d60! Tributes have HP, which can be higher/lower depending on district, pregames activity, age and game maker score. We also have attributes - two chosen, and one given by staff following the game maker session. :) The attributes give your tribute particular benefits during the games :)

Goblet of Fire is definitely a good one too! You should totally get on that 3rd book! :D

Sounds interesting! I don't have much experience with dice systems, though I love that they help make things fairer and generally seem to work really well. I'm hoping to get the third book for Christmas, and if not then I will be clearing out all of my books in the new year so I'm bound to find it sooner or later XD

Hello @Suzi welcome to the Initiative. We are glad to have you. Hunger games were good books and the movies weren't  too terrible either.

Hello, @Suzi!  I know you!  I ran Sixth Station, and I was a member of Time Won't Forget for awhile.  I'm also an affiliate of ATO.  I enjoy stalking it.

Hunger Games is such a fun genre.  I wish it were a bigger genre than it is.  Always in the back of my mind I think about creating another Hunger Games site, but alas!  I shouldn't bite off more than I can chew.

Ahhh so many wonderful welcomes from you guys :)
@webs - They are relatively easy to get the hang of, just takes some practice :) I love how it's all down the chase, the dice gods can REALLY mess things up!
@Morrigan - Thank you so much for the kind welcome! Books or always better than the movies ;)
@Elena - Thanks for the song, had a listen - I know that one :D

@Rune - I do sometimes too, some characters I don't mind letting go of! Of course there are other roles we get to keep forever, like the victors/escorts/stylists etc! Loads of more permanent things to play as well as the tributes so it's a good mix!
@Uaithne - Oh really, what was your OOC? That's awesome, what site is it you run? ^^ I usually stalk most of my affiliates from time to time!
