Go to your ACP Expand Skins and Templates Click on Macros Edit the macro set that you're using for your theme. Click Add a Macro (it's in the red heading beneath Edit Macro Title). Next to Macro Key, paste in the following MOBILE_LOGO In Macro Replacement, type in your links as usual as in: <a href="URL">Title</a> Click Add this Macro You're done! You can style is as normal in the stylesheet. I have the styling in the macro itself, just because I don't need it anywhere else. If you want to do that, add the following code at the bottom of the Macro Replacement. <style> /* your styling here */ </style> That's it! Be freed from the shackles of no templates and embrace your custom mobile menus!

I know I'm making this about 20 times harder than it needs to be because I didn't originally code this skin with mobile devices in mind. This skin has been... 2? years in the making. Ahah. I always told myself I'd get around to looking into mobile-specific stuff "in a few more days" or "once this piece of code is finished." And now the entire skin is pretty much done... Except for a more mobile-friendly version. lmao Sooo... Where do I even start? I have a basic media query (pointer:coarse because looking at the list of media queries for all the different devices out there scares me, so I figure I'd just target all touch-based devices to start off) and some very, very basic styles for my wrapper and sidebar to get them to span the entire width of the screen. And that's about as far as I've gotten because I am so lost as to what even makes a decent mobile design. (Like I've browsed the initiative a couple of times from my phone and went "o.o how do you do that? That looks so nice!" and that's really it) So, any advice or help with making this somewhat presentable on mobile devices would be loved. You can see my testing board here: https://kjsage.jcink.net/index.php?act=idx Links in the sidebar won't work because they're relative to BOE (which is linked in the welcome tab of the sidebar) I can share my wrappers and other code if needed, as well.

I'm not much of a coder, to be honest, but I know just enough to get me in trouble. 😉 Whenever I use a template - mine or someone else's - I run into a problem in which it's too wide for mobile viewing and my phone won't scroll sideways to accommodate the template. I have one of my templates set to a fixed width intentionally so it looks good on the computer, and I'm sure that another template I'm also using that's not mine is in the same boat. I don't want to make things fluid to fit screens because then it's undesirable when viewing on the computer. What have you guys done to amend this? Also, do you have any coding tips for making sure things fit on both mobile and computers? I used to make jcink and invisionfree skins so long ago when mobile wasn't a thing; I'm a bit rusty.

This one is a progressive story! Whenever your phone autocorrects something silly, why not post it here and share some laughs? Just today, I was having a chat with my friend who was very excited that General Hux was included in recent Star Wars promotional artwork. I tried to reply with: "Yay! General Hux needs more love!" What my phone wanted me to say: "Yay! General Hux needs more lube!"
