Friends! Romans! Countrymen! Lend me your opinions! Where do you stand on period accurate play bys? Personally, I much prefer that play bys be period accurate, but near enough is close enough for me. So long as there are no obvious anachronisms in the image, I'm good. However, I don't care enough to actually police avatars. It's enough for me to lead by example without adding avatar rules. I prefer accuracy because I find modern looks to be jarring, it takes me out the scene. I do however, appreciate that finding the right play by can be hard (I'm uber picky about them) so I don't want to make the cosmetics any harder. I just don't think it's worth it. Where do you stand? Why? If you enforce period accuracy, how strict are you?
