To submit a theme you will be submitting a zip file to our downloads:
https://rpginitiative.com/files/
The theme must have the following inside of the zip in this specific fashion:
- theme.xml - This file can be named anything but it must be an XML, all currently used softwares use XML for installs. If it doesn't please reach out to the staff in the staff contact center.
- images - Folder with all available images. Please provide PSDs if available for headers and editing if you would like.
- credits.txt - Provide your information inside of a plain text file, any special credits you would like to provide that are not required to be listed in the footer.
- readme.txt - This is any special instructions for custom items that you may have in your theme that require extra setup beyond installing the theme XML.
The appropriate staff members will download and test your theme on the Initiative's demo site's for each platform. Once installed they will link this demo inside of your uploaded theme listing so members will have a consistent link and you do not have to maintain your own demo.
We do request, but do not require, that your credit come back to the Initiative. However, we do require that it not link back to other roleplay resource sites. So if you submit it you can simply put your name at the bottom, no accreditation or link to a personal site but it do not link back to other roleplay resource sites. If you do provide credit back to the initiative we ask that you use our icon next to the name of our site which can be found here:
Obviously doesn't have to be that big so scale it down to whatever size would be appropriate.
So once you've zipped up your 3 files and images folder you can submit your theme to our directory. The staff will download and install the theme. They will update the demo link and approve it from there. Due to the obstacles/time that it will take for a staff member to do this Themes will have the longest wait time for approval. Please know we will do everything in our power to get them approved quickly.
